**Henry Onyekuru** (born Henry Chukwuemeka Onyekuru on June 5, 1997, in Lagos, Nigeria) is a professional Nigerian footballer who plays primarily as a winger. Recognized for his pace, dribbling ability, and clinical finishing, Onyekuru is considered one of Nigeria's notable attacking talents who has competed across top leagues in Europe.Early Life and Career Genesis Onyekuru began his development in Lagos before joining the prestigious Aspire Academy in 2010, where he honed his skills for five years. He was part of the first class of graduates from the Aspire Academy's project in Senegal, which paved the way for his move to Europe.Club Career Progression Onyekuru began his professional senior career in Belgium, joining K.A.S. Eupen in 2015, an Aspire Academy partner club. During his time at Eupen, he quickly gained prominence, scoring 28 goals in 57 league appearances. His prolific form in the 2016–2017 season, where he finished as the joint top scorer in the Belgian Pro League, attracted attention from major European clubs. In 2017, he signed with Premier League club Everton but was immediately loaned out due to work permit restrictions. His subsequent loan moves included R.S.C. Anderlecht (2017–2018), where he scored 9 goals in 19 league appearances, and two separate successful loan spells at Turkish giants Galatasaray (2018–2019 and 2019–2020), where he achieved major success. In 2019, he moved to AS Monaco before returning to Galatasaray and later playing for Olympiacos and Al-Fayha. As of 2025, he is back playing for Gençlerbirliği in Turkey.International Career Onyekuru has represented the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, making his debut in 2017. He was part of the squad that participated in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, where Nigeria secured a third-place finish and earned a bronze medal.
