Mercy Johnson-Okojie (born Mercy Ozioma Johnson on August 28, 1984, in Lagos, Nigeria) is a prominent Nigerian actress. Although born in Lagos, she is originally from Okene in Kogi State. She is the fourth child in a family of seven children. She completed her primary education in Calabar, Cross River State, and attended Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt. Johnson-Okojie began her acting career shortly after her secondary education. She auditioned for and secured a role in the 2004 movie The Maid, which launched her into the Nigerian film industry, commonly known as Nollywood. Since her debut, she has appeared in over 100 films, establishing herself as one of the most bankable and sought-after actresses in the industry. Her career progression includes significant roles in movies like Thy Will Be Done (2015), From Freetown TL (2016), and the critically acclaimed 30 Days in Atlanta (2014). She is recognized for her versatility and ability to portray diverse characters across various genres. A major achievement in her career includes winning the Best Actress in a Leading Role award at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her performance in the film Dumebi The Dirty Girl. Her work in Nollywood spans nearly two decades, and she remains actively involved in acting and film production. Mercy Johnson-Okojie married Prince Odianosen Okojie in 2011, and they have several children. As of her current status, she continues to act and maintain a strong presence in the Nigerian entertainment landscape. She is also a recognized media personality with a large following on social media, including over 19 million followers on Instagram.
