Overview
**Richmond Bassey: Biography** Richmond Bassey is a Nigerian technology entrepreneur recognized primarily as the Co-Founder and CEO of Bamboo, a digital investment platform. Bamboo, founded in 2018, utilizes cutting-edge technology to democratize access to global investment opportunities, particularly U.S. stocks, for Africans. Bassey's educational background includes a degree in Engineering from Anglia Ruskin University. He furthered his studies by earning a Master's degree in Management and Innovation from Queen Mary University of London. Before co-founding Bamboo, Bassey built a career in the tech and finance sectors. He previously served as a Product Manager at L5 Lab. Following this, he contributed to the growth of Helium Health, where he helped the team expand its operations to become the largest Electronic Medical Records (EMR) provider in West Africa. Bassey co-founded Bamboo with Yanmo Omorogbe, who serves as the COO. The idea for Bamboo stemmed from the founders experiencing difficulty in finding easy and affordable ways to invest in U.S. stocks from Nigeria. A significant achievement for Bassey and his co-founder is the launch and growth of Bamboo, which focuses on financial literacy and making finance simple and approachable for investors. The startup was recognized as one of the 200 companies selected for Forbes' first Digital Startup Accelerator Program in Nigeria. Richmond Bassey currently serves as the CEO and Co-Founder of Invest Bamboo, driving the platform's mission to help Africans build wealth by providing access to global financial markets. His work continues to position him as a leading figure in Nigeria's fintech landscape.
